Last month Larisa and I shot one of the most important weddings in our short career as wedding photographers. Not only is Jill one of the most gorgeous brides we’ve ever photographed, but she is also the daughter of two of our best friends in the entire world.
As a father of three daughters, I usually find myself getting a little emotional during most weddings, but this wedding was different. At the salon, Jill made a little joke that soon, it will be my daughters sitting in those chairs getting ready for their big day. And that’s when it hit me – I have watched Jill grow up for the last 15 years – right in front of me – and that happened in the blink of an eye. One day, she’s babysitting our babies, the next day she is walking down the aisle with her Dad.
At the wedding we were able to catch up with a lot of old friends. There were a few tears and lots of laughs. But most of all, we were able to share in one of the biggest days in our friends’ lives. Thank you for letting us be a part of it.
Oh, and Sean, you clean up pretty good too! Thank you for being super fun and a pleasure to work with as well. I know you and Jill will be super happy together.
And speaking of friends – two other great friends were part of this fantastic day as well: Andrea from Beadazzling Jewelzz did the gorgeous jewellery for the bride and bridal party and Lisa and Laurie from Simple Creations designed and printed Jill and Sean’s super cool invitations. And special thanks to our friends at the Retro Suites for letting us shoot in and around the hotel.
